If you want to support GSAs across the province, there are many ways to get involved as students, educators, parents, guardians, community members, and allies. Let’s start by acknowledging what a GSA is and why it is important for youth.
A Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is a student-led clubs that brings together 2SLGBTQAI+ students and their allies to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment within schools. GSAs provide a space for students to discuss issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity, promoting understanding and acceptance among peers. By fostering dialogue and raising awareness, GSAs play a crucial role in reducing bullying and discrimination, helping students feel safer and more connected to their school communities. They also empower 2SLGBTQAI+ students by giving them a sense of belonging and validation in an often challenging environment.
